Home and Family

CS: What is your favorite part of Vincent’s room, and why does it stand out to you?

JM: I love that we have a little space for everything - there’s a play table for toys, a soft rug for hanging, a little sofa for reading books, a rocker for cuddling, and a huge dresser for corralling.

CS: What would you say your child’s favorite part of their room is, and how do they enjoy it?

JM: Right now it’s the play table (IKEA!) - he’s in his Thomas Train era.

CS: Is there an item in your child’s room with the most sentimental value? What’s the story behind it?

JM: There’s a glass lamp from the first days of Furbish full of pom poms and silly things. I’ve been adding some of his little toys as they are forgotten or retired to it.

Travel and Adventures

CS: What’s next on your travel docket, and what are you most excited about doing while you’re there?

JM: We head to Aspen for the holidays next week. In March we’re taking our first warm weather real life vacay with Vincent to Mexico, and I’m excited to just chill and let him run around and be outside.

CS: What are you packing in your child’s suitcase for your trip to Aspen, we love a snow baby at Dalhouse!

JM: I’m packing heavy flannel shirts – it’s cold there – and cute little snow boots. He won’t wear hats, so lots of hoodies. Again, cold, so he sleeps in a little sack over his pajamas so he doesn’t get too chilly at night.

Style and Aesthetics

CS: If you had to describe your child’s style in three words, what would they be?

JM: I think he’s very handsome. He is not demure. He’s rowdy. Kinda hip and cool, but messy.

CS: How does your personal style influence the decisions you make for your child’s wardrobe?

JM: I find myself buying for him things I wish I could wear. It’s sort of been natural – I’m like, yeah, a cool little dude would wear that, so that’s what we go with.

Personal Inspirations

CS: Who is your favorite mom in pop culture, and what about her inspires or resonates with you?

JM: Very into Sarah Hoover right now and looking forward to her book coming out in January.

CS: As a mom, I’m always on the lookout for the next it mom bag, what have been some of your favorites that you’ve used and are you coveting one right now?

JM: I have been using the Baby Bag Nylon | Carra. I use it all of the time – it has been amazing. Ten out of ten.
