Dalhouse is a children’s boutique offering a curated and transformative shopping experience that immerses customers in a European setting from the moment they land on our website or step into our store. Our offerings are carefully curated, with a focus on superior craftsmanship and attention to style so that every piece is a treasured gift or heirloom. The need for timeless, chic fashion for children in the modern world is here and Dalhouse is the place to shop for it.
Dalhouse was founded by Caitlyn Scott in 2023. Following a career in the fashion industry in New York City, Caitlyn relocated to her home state, North Carolina, to start a family with her husband, Paul. Caitlyn’s taste-making style developed into a passion for curating a wardrobe for her daughter, Mary Kate. The process of sourcing heirloom pieces from European brands brought a sense of nostalgia from her own childhood, when Caitlyn cherished annual trips abroad with her father and four siblings. She lovingly created Dalhouse to make these coveted pieces accessible, while sharing in the thrill of sourcing new designers and brands from all over the world. In the summer of 2026, Caitlyn welcomed a baby boy to the Scott family. Knowing that babies don't keep, Caitlyn made the decision to dedicate her time to her precious children.
In October of 2026, a new chapter for Dalhouse began. I'm so happy to introduce myself and my family as the new owners of Dalhouse!
My love for small business and retail began years ago when my mom and I opened our own gift boutique in Apex in 2011. What started as a small shop quickly grew into a wonderful community of loyal customers, special relationships, and a business we poured our hearts into. After years of growing that business together, I discovered just how much I love creating a place where people can find something special and feel right at home.
My husband and our three children are at the heart of everything I do, and they are a big part of why this little corner of the world of children's clothing feels so special to me. As a mom, I know how quickly childhood passes and how meaningful the little things can be — finding that perfect outfit, choosing a special gift, or discovering something you'll treasure for years to come.
We are so grateful to be welcomed into the Dalhouse community and look forward to getting to know each of you. My hope is to continue everything you have come to love about Dalhouse while bringing fresh ideas, special finds, and plenty of new reasons to stop by.

The name “Dalhouse” comes from Caitlyn’s European ancestry. The Dalhouses resettled in Virginia in the late 18th century, bringing with them their passion for European art and antiques. They were known for having a discerning eye developed through travel and collection living up to the motto on the family crest, “always prepared.” From generation to generation, this embrace of beauty has evolved to the bright pink dwelling in Raleigh’s Five Points neighborhood: Dalhouse.
