“As a little girl, my father passed on to me our family’s heritage of cultivating beauty for others to enjoy and come together. Having traveled the world, I want to bring all of those experiences, knowledge of various cultural landscapes, and — most importantly — beautiful children's pieces to families in North Carolina and beyond.”
Dalhouse was founded by Caitlyn Scott in 2023. Following a career in the fashion industry in New York City, Caitlyn relocated to her home state, North Carolina, to start a family with her husband, Paul. Caitlyn’s taste-making style developed into a passion for curating a wardrobe for her daughter, Mary Kate. The process of sourcing heirloom pieces from European brands brought a sense of nostalgia from her own childhood, when Caitlyn cherished annual trips abroad with her father and four siblings. She lovingly created Dalhouse to make these coveted pieces accessible, while sharing in the thrill of sourcing new designers and brands from all over the world. Thus, Dalhouse was born—a place for choice pieces from considered brands.

The name “Dalhouse” comes from Caitlyn’s European ancestry. The Dalhouses resettled in Virginia in the late 18th century, bringing with them their passion for European art and antiques. They were known for having a discerning eye developed through travel and collection living up to the motto on the family crest, “always prepared.” From generation to generation, this embrace of beauty has evolved to the bright pink dwelling in Raleigh’s Five Points neighborhood: Dalhouse.
